Foot Care Nurse
A professional advanced diabetic foot care nurse is specifically trained to allow for the treatment and prevention of foot health issues related to diabetes and other illnesses. All age groups are welcome. We serve as a valuable resource for information that helps patients manage their own health for long-term wellness. Nurses use the same standardized peer-reviewed guidelines, teaching materials and suggested care plans to provide Gold Standard Care!

This clinic is for people who have trouble with their feet, are curious about the health of their feet and/or may have one of the following criteria:
1. diabetes
2. nail problems
3. corns or callouses
4. cracks on heels
5. neurological, muscular or bone conditions
6. poor foot or leg circulation
7. loss of feeling in feet or legs
8. balance or flexibility issues
9. foot/leg deformities (i.e. flat feet, bunions, hammer toes…)
10. wears custom orthotics, or problems finding shoes that fit
11. Painful feet/legs
12. Vision problems
13. foot ulcer
14. new foot care patient
Foot Care Nurse Clinical Training
Course Description
Total Hours: 43
The Foot Care Nurse Clinical course is designed for nurses (RN’s, NP’s, RPN’s & LPN’s) who have successfully completed the Online Foot Care Nurse Theory course and are ready to practise their Foot Care Nurse skills onsite with the guidance and supervision of a Foot Care Nurse Educator. The course uses the Canadian Association of Foot Care Nurses’ National Competencies for Advanced Nursing Foot Care in Canada (2017) as Clinical Performance Standards and teaches a comprehensive, advanced and diabetic nursing foot care curriculum, which follows current best practice guidelines and evidence-based practice.
